For years, I’ve poured my time, creativity, and passion into building my Instagram account, @annesisteron. What started as a small platform to showcase my jewelry designs and connect with customers slowly grew into something truly meaningful — a community. I connected with followers from all over the world, shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of my brand, promoted new collections, and even supported causes close to my heart.
But one morning, everything changed.
I woke up, tried to log in to my account, and was met with a message that simply said: “Your account has been disabled for violating our terms.” No details. No specific reason. Just a cold notification.
My heart sank. This wasn’t just a social media page — it was my brand’s identity. Years of content, customer testimonials, partnerships, and memories were suddenly gone.
I immediately tried to appeal the decision using Instagram’s official channels. I filled out every form I could find, submitted my ID multiple times, and waited. Days turned into weeks. The only responses I got were automated emails saying my account had been reviewed and the decision was final. I felt helpless.
The most frustrating part was not knowing why my account was disabled. I’ve always followed the guidelines. I’ve never posted anything offensive, used bots, or engaged in spammy behavior. My account was about authenticity, creativity, and honest connection. But Instagram never gave me a proper explanation — and that’s what hurt the most.
I tried reaching out to Meta support, tagging them on Twitter, messaging them on Facebook — nothing worked.
In the meantime, I started getting messages from clients and followers asking why the account was gone. I had to rebuild trust and explain to everyone that it wasn’t intentional — it was a mistake. But rebuilding from scratch felt impossible.
I later learned that many other small business owners and creators had experienced the same thing. Their accounts were disabled without warning, often by mistake, and they were left in the dark. That’s when I found AccountJustice, a platform where people like me could share their stories and seek help.
I’m sharing my experience here with the hope that Instagram and Meta start treating creators and business owners with the respect they deserve. An account isn’t just a username — it’s a livelihood, a brand, a connection to the world.
To anyone reading this, if your account was unfairly disabled like mine — don’t lose hope. Speak up, share your story, and demand accountability. I’m still fighting to get @annesisteron back, and I won’t give up.
Let’s stand together for fair treatment in the digital world.
